About Dr. Jones

Erin Raashel Jones is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park where she co-directs the SUCCEEDS Clinic. She obtained her PhD in School Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill in 2021. Additionally, she holds a master's degree in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. Her dissertation research examined the effects of a brief behavioral activation intervention on the wellbeing, perceived stress and positive emotions of K-12 teachers suffering from emotional exhaustion. 

Dr. Jones has previously served as an Exceptional Children Teacher and Department Chair in Warsaw, NC and an Adult Secondary Educator in Southeast Washington, DC. In addition, she held roles as an ADHD/LD Learning Coach at UNC Chapel Hill and a Teach for America Corps Member Coach and Exceptional Children Content Lead in Eastern North Carolina. Her research interests include: sensory processing sensitivity in childhood through emerging adulthood and associated internalizing and externalizing conditions; peer-based/mutual support interventions for ADHD, social anxiety disorder and persistent depression; attachment based interventions for emotional and behavioral disabilities in children and adolescents; and, intersectionality differences in the presentation, perception and identification of ADHD and sensory processing sensitivity.
