About Dr. Raggi

Dr. Raggi earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2008 after completing her pre-doctoral internship at Children’s National Medical Center. She then completed postdoctoral training at the New York University Child Study Center. Dr. Raggi is currently a licensed psychologist at Alvord, Baker & Associates, providing individual therapy, family therapy, behavioral parent training, school consultation services, and psychoeducational/ psychological assessments. She is also co-director of the Selective Mutism Program at Alvord Baker. She has extensive experience in the application of behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches in the treatment of child and adolescent anxiety, social skills deficits, depression, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, academic problems, and organizational skills deficits.

Veronica is first author on a book designed to support clinicians in treating children and adolescents with anxiety using exposure therapy. Exposure Therapy for Treating Children and Adolescents with Anxiety is a comprehensive, practical guide for mental health professionals in the “how to” of implementing exposure therapy for treating children and adolescents with anxiety. Each chapter explains how to tailor exposure work for specific anxiety-related conditions and provides a variety of creative exposure tasks and activities. This book is now available for purchase. She is also the author of CBT Tools for Kids, an iPhone application designed to help children use cognitive behavioral skills to monitor and manage their mood and challenge negative thoughts.
